The Sultan is a character in Arabian Nights Island. He is Scheherazade's father.

Appearance[]
The Sultan is an elderly man with tan skin and a white thin, long mustache and beard.
Personality[]
Sultan used to be very close to his daughter Scheherazade. After finding the genie Samhal and asking to be made rich, his personality and mental state took a turn for the worst. He became greedy, egotistical, obsessed, and short-sighted. He only cared about his new wealth, and ignored Scheherazade.
Even after all of this, he was still fond of his close friend/business partner, who he made his royal advisor. After hearing he disappeared into thin air, he lightly jokes that "that is like him", and ran off to find him.
After seeing Scheherazade's childhood picture of the two of them being close, he realizes the error of his ways and wishes he never found the lamp. The two are now happy together, like how they were before the genie.
Storyline[]
The Sultan found the genie lamp while trading one day. He asked Samhal to turn him into a sultan, and Scheherazade into a princess. He hoped Scheherazade would be happy with this new life, but because of the Sultan being obsessed with riches, she turned to villainy. When the player shows the Sultan his daughter's childhood drawing, he remembered what was really important, and wished that he never found the lamp in the first place. The timeline is reset, and he and Scheherazade are happy again.

- In the original 1001 Nights stories that Arabian Nights Island is based on, the Sultan's name is Shahryar.
