Max McGullicutty, also known as M.M., is the name of a former passenger and the pilot of the crashed airplane, whose hints and gear for survival you find throughout your journey on Survival Island.

History[]
Max McGullicutty was a pilot for Mews Airlines, a company owned by Harold Mews. He was making a delivery to Survival Island, when Myron Van Buren crashed his plane. Max was forced to run and hide from Van Buren for over a year, and at one point had to cut off his own leg.
Appearance[]
Max McGullicutty is an elderly dark-skinned man in a blue pilot uniform. He has dim grey afro-textured hair, some facial hair around his cheeks and stubble on his face. His whole appearance is disheveled from a tough life of survival in the woods. In the place of his missing leg he is wearing a handmade prosthetic leg. He has an “M” symbol on his belt that either stands for “Max” or “McGullicutty”.
Personality[]
Max McGullicutty is a kind and resourceful character who is determined to help the player survive on the island. He is a bit grumpy and paranoid, due to his time running and hiding from Myron Van Buren on Survival Island. He has been trapped on the island for a year by the time you find him, and was forced to cut off his own leg. He is brave and capable.
Storyline[]
Role in Episodes 1-4[]
Max isn't present in Episodes 1-4. However, you're able to find his gear throughout the episodes. In Episode 1, you start collecting the pages of his survival handbook and find his mittens. You use his fishing pole to catch fish in Episode 2 and find what's left of his wrecked airplane in Episode 3.
In Episode 4, he's the one who wrote the message "Meet me in the woods" and "You are not alone" on the tapestry in your room, and signed it "M.M."
Role in Episode 5[]
You meet him personally after you fall into his trap for Myron Van Buren in Episode 5: Escape. He at first mistakes you for Myron but quickly realizes that you're not him. After the introduction, he reveals his plan to take Myron down once and for all. He enlists your help to retrieve items for a trap, which you set up in a mill.
After you're cornered by Myron Van Buren, Max McGullicutty rides into the scene on the back of the bear that you freed earlier and breaks you out of your own trap that Myron used against you.
At the end of the episode, Max and you are seen flying off into the sunset on Myron's helicopter.

- He was Myron Van Buren's first victim. He managed to escape him and has been on the run from Myron for over a year by the time you show up.
- As evident by the logo on the crashed plane and a manifest left by Max inside of it, he is working for Mews Airlines, a company that belongs to Harold Mews, which means he might have a personal connection with him.
- Based on the concept art for Max, it could be assumed that he lost his leg to one of Myron Van Buren's traps.
- As seen inside of his bag from Episode 3, he collects coins.
- In the fandom, he is commonly shipped with Harold Mews from Cryptids Island.
