“ | Hermes is the swiftest of all the Gods in Olympus. He needs no winged cap. He needs only faith in himself. | ” |
—Poseidon |
“ | Zeus may be the God of Thunder, but you're quicker than lightning! Do you think you can beat me? | ” |
—Hermes |
Hermes is one of the Zeus' sons and the messenger of the gods, thanks to the winged cap and sandals his father gave him.
Appearance[]
Hermes's statue holds a caduceus and is wearing a winged cap. Even though his sandals cannot be seen, it's implied that they're there by the Player's dialogue when you examine the statue in the Museum.
Role on Mythology Island[]
He appears as a statue in the Museum on Main Street on the right of Dionysus, the sleepy god.
Role on Poptropica Adventures[]
When you talk to the man standing by the Mount Olympus gates, he'll reveal himself to be Hermes, who lost his magical winged hat. He has messages to deliver but he's afraid that he won't be able to do his job without his hat. He asks you to deliver the letters for him to Poseidon and Artemis, and a package for Hades.
When you're done, he's impressed by how quick you are and bets that you're even faster than Zeus. Zeus appears right away and Hermes regrets his words because, as he says, Zeus is super sensitive. This results in Zeus challenging you to a race to Mount Olympus and if you lose, Hermes shall suffer the consequences.
After you beat Zeus in a race, Hermes offers you a race with him as well.
