Hazmat Hermit's real name is Justin Lacy. He works on Static Poptropica and is in charge of calculating how long until islands are released and he often sets the timer on the homepage. His Avatar has been changed; he is now holding the mouse toy from the Fierce Lion costume from the Poptropica Store.

- On Steamworks Island, there is a chalkboard with the words "Hazmat was here" written on it, which is a reference to Hazmat Hermit. A screenshot of this was posted as a sneak peek for Steamworks Island on the Poptropica Creators' Blog.
