Florian "Flashy" Fosbury is a character in Escape from Pelican Rock Island. Like most characters in that island, their gender depends the gender of the player character.

Personality[]
Florian's personality is shown to be very narcissistic, arrogant, and selfish. They are obsessed with maintaining a specific weight and is mostly seen working out in the courtyard or sitting alone in the mess hall at their favorite spot, so everyone can see them. Fosbury is extremely vain and obsessed with maintaining youthful proportions of 26-34-30.

Florian wears the prison outfit that everyone else in the prison on the island is wearing: a blue shirt with brown pants. On their face there is a gray mole, and on their head is a bright, shiny, beautiful set of hair, which they really love to have.
Storyline[]
Role on Escape from Pelican Rock Island[]
Day 1[]
Florian is seen on the first day of prison when you are forced to go outside and mingle with the others. While they are lifting up their weights, you go over and ask them who they are because, well, this is your first day of prison and you'd like to meet everyone. But they respond saying to not act like you don't know them, because they think that you're the Booted Bandit, obviously indicating that they have some history that you don't know of.
You say that you're not the Booted Bandit, getting frustrated with everyone saying that you are because you look exactly like the Booted Bandit, and they sarcastically say that they're not Flashy Florian Fosbury either. You respond with asking if they are Florian Fosbury (because of their sarcasm), and they say that of course they are, and they remind you that they hasn't forgotten that you nicked their safe, and tells you to watch your back.
As that happened, one of the officers of the prison tells everyone to fall in line so that the warden can speak to them. Florian, along with everyone else, falls in line as the warden walks towards them. As the warden speaks, they notice that they have a new guest and tells everyone to move out of the way so they can go speak with them. Once they go through their little argument, the warden turns back to everyone else in the line.
As they talk about how they think that there's still hope behind the walls of the prison, the warden brings up the Booted Bandit, and Big Tuna get's all angry with you saying that you set them up. Florian and everyone else get all scared and run over to you. Big Tuna charges at you, but gets dragged away by an officer of the prison, and isn't seen for a very long time.
The warden then tells everyone that that's what happens when they misbehave, and then tells them to carry on. Florian isn't seen when the player goes to work to make license plates, but is seen when the player goes to lunch. They are sitting in the front of the room, saying that they sit in the best spot because everyone can see them there. When the player tries to sit with them, they don't want it to happen at all because they think that you're the Booted Bandit, and they're not friends.
They order you to go sit somewhere else, and after that just continues to eat until they are ordered to got to their cell and go to bed. However, this all happened on day 1.
Day 2[]
Day 2 starts, and the player heads outside to see Florian lifting their weights again. The player is genuinely surprised at the fact that they do a lot of exercise, and they say that it's not easy to keep up a physique that they currently have (even though their physique is the exact same as the players and everyone else's), and says that they have the same measurements as they did 20 years ago. 26-34-30.
But then they say that their prison jumpsuit isn't doing them any favors, and that's all that happens in recreation. Lunch time doesn't change a bit, and then they're ordered to go to bed just like how it was on day 1.
Day 3[]
Day 3 starts and Florian is again seen lifting their weight and talking about how their prison jumpsuit isn't doing them any favors, and that's all they do in recreation. When the player goes to lunch time they are seen eating at their favorite spot, talking about how everyone can see them there. Then they go to bed.
Day 4[]
Day 4 comes up and Florian does nothing new. Same exact thing in recreation. Same exact thing in lunch time.
Day 5[]
You, like, wanna change something about your character, Florian? Cause I'm getting pretty bored of you and how you aren't doing anything new in the prison. I get it. Prison is boring. But still. You shouldn't do the exact same thing every day. Take this advice.
Day 6[]
Yeah Florian, doesn't look like you took my advice of changing your character. Still doing the same exact thing. I'm starting to think that you're getting bored of yourself.
Day 7[]
Finally a character change. While they still do the same thing in recreation, the same cannot be said about lunch. They are still seen eating and saying the same thing, but the player had a night visit to the ventilation shaft last night and made it so that the vents are open above Florian's favorite spot. Once the player went to lunch time, they immediately ran into the kitchen where the mashed potatoes were, turned on the fan, and began to stir them.
The mashed potatoes got sucked up through the vents and splat across Florian's hair. Florian screamed that they were going to find whoever did that and make them pay, and then an officer yelled at them to sit down. Florian shouted back at the guard, throwing some mashed potatoes at the guard, causing a food fight to start. The officer eventually put Florian down, and ordered everyone to go to bed.
Day 8[]
The player's last day at the prison starts, and while they're are outside talking with Patches, Florian and Big Tuna show up at the door saying that there's no escaping them. The player runs behind Patches and asks them if they're got a handful of birdseed on them, and Patches happily throws some onto Florian and Big Tuna.
At first it didn't stop them at all, but then a seagull and Patches' bird flew down and started pecking them, causing them to run away. And while the player and some other fellow inmate friends of the player got out, Florian remains in the prison.
Trivia[]
- They say that it's hard to keep up a physique like what they have, even though they have the exact same physique as most poptropicans.
- Their charges are tax evasion, racketeering, and air pollution.
