Along with the Skullduggery Island (book), the Astro-Knights Island book is another paperback storybook for one of Poptropica's longest islands. The book was written by Tracey West and was released on November 8, 2012.

Plot[]
Chapter 1: Strange Disks in the Sky[]
Simon, a stable boy in the kingdom of Arturus, is eager to see the knights ride out. He dreams of becoming a squire and leaving the stables behind. While mucking out stalls, he sees strange silver disks in the sky that begin attacking the kingdom.
Chapter 2: Attacked![]
The flying disks attack Arturus. Simon helps the knights, including Sir Pelleas, Sir Cador, and Sir Gawain, prepare to defend the kingdom. He then searches for his friend Alice, a scullery maid. They witness the knights fighting back and destroying one of the disks with a crossbow. However, the Queen reveals that Princess Elyana has been kidnapped.
Chapter 3: The Mystical Weapons[]
The King announces that the knights will travel to the stars to rescue the Princess. He bestows upon them three mystical weapons: the Force Shield, the Ice Arrow, and the Laser Lance. The knights depart in one of the captured flying disks.
Chapter 4: The Mordred Museum[]
Days after the knights' departure, Simon and Alice visit the Mordred Museum. They learn about Mordred, an inventor who left Arturus. They find the museum boring, but on leaving, they notice mysterious figures in purple robes entering the fountain, which is a monument to Mordred.
Chapter 5: Simon Steps Up[]
Simon is sent to the Castle with a message. He finds the King and Queen distraught over the missing Princess. When the King laments that no one is brave enough to follow the knights, Simon impulsively volunteers to rescue the Princess himself.
Chapter 6: A Mystery... and a Mouse[]
Simon volunteers to rescue the Princess. The Queen gives him coordinates to three planets where the knights might have taken her. He asks for Alice's help, and the King agrees to knight them both if they succeed. Simon remembers Rose, the lady-in-waiting, and her mention of a half-robot kidnapper. He questions Rose, who reveals she delivered messages for the Princess to a secret society at the fountain. Simon also captures a mechanical mouse in Rose's room.
Chapter 7: The Disciples of Mordred[]
Simon and Alice go to the mill to gather information. They learn about Mordred's followers and a secret order. Simon infiltrates the order's meeting by pretending to be a member and learns they plan to investigate the windmill. They also acquire a key.
Chapter 8: Into the Dungeon[]
Simon and Alice find a book that Mordred frequently borrowed, which leads them to a secret passage and a dungeon. They encounter a strange mechanical creature. They suspect a secret lab is nearby. They are caught by a monk and guards but escape. Simon and Alice return to Rose's room and capture the mechanical mouse.
Chapter 9: Elyana’s Secret[]
Simon and Alice search for clues in Princess Elyana's room, using a rope and crossbow to reach her balcony. They find a note revealing Elyana's connection to the secret order and her belief that Mordred is alive and on a distant planet.
Chapter 10: Finally...a Flying Machine![]
Simon and Alice discover Mordred's secret room in the windmill, containing a small land skimmer. They find it runs on manure and use it to locate a larger spacecraft, "Excalibur," in a muddy field.
Chapter 11: The Secret under the Hay[]
Simon and Alice learn from Elyana's note that Mordred hid secrets under his bed. They return to the museum and find coordinates to a moon with alien life. They then discover a hidden entrance to Mordred's lab under a haystack.
Chapter 12: Inside Mordred’s Dungeon[]
Simon and Alice enter Mordred's secret lab, encountering a mechanical owl, Merlin. They learn about Mordred's experiments with robotics and animal DNA. They find a fuel rod and, with Merlin's help, retrieve it from the dungeon cell.
Chapter 13: Beyond the Fabric of the Sky[]
Simon and Alice use the fuel rod to power the Excalibur spacecraft. They set course for the moon with alien life, but the fuel rod depletes mid-flight, causing them to crash land on the moon.
Chapter 14: Little Green Aliens[]
Simon and Alice crash-land on Pewter Moon and encounter friendly green aliens. They learn about the Binary Bard, a sorcerer who might be responsible for the attack on Arturus. They meet a mechanic who agrees to let them build a new ship in exchange for their wrecked one.
Chapter 15: Danger on the Ice Planet[]
Simon and Alice travel to the Ice Planet, battling mechanical space sharks to reach Sir Gawain, who is stranded. They learn that the Princess might be guarded by a beast. Simon defeats the mechanical Tiger Copter guarding the area, but the Princess is not there.
Chapter 16: Guardian of the Cage[]
Simon, Alice, and Sir Gawain travel to the Jungle Planet. They find Sir Cador's Laser Lance and then Sir Cador himself. They learn that the Princess is being held in a cage. Alice uses the Laser Lance to fight mechanical baby birds and rescues a Pegasus, but not the Princess. They are warned that the mother Phoenix is coming.
Chapter 17: Into the Volcano[]
Simon and Alice battle a mechanical Phoenix and its missiles on the Jungle Planet. They defeat it and learn that the Binary Bard and Mordred are the same person. They travel to the Fire Planet, navigating lava and a rock monster to find Sir Pelleas.
Chapter 18: The Crystal Gate[]
Sir Pelleas informs them that the Princess is being held captive. They battle a mechanical dragon and rescue Sir Pelleas. They return to Pewter Moon and learn they need a key to reach the Binary Bard. They find the key on an asteroid and, as the "Chosen Ones," open a portal to Mordred's city.
Chapter 19: Mecha Mordred[]
They find Princess Elyana, who reveals Mordred's evil plan. They confront Mordred in his mecha robot. Merlin helps to disable the robot. Simon and Alice climb the robot and rescue the Princess.
Chapter 20: Two Knights to Remember[]
Princess Elyana defeats Mordred. They return to Arturus, where the Princess restores power to the kingdom. Simon and Alice are recognized as heroes and knighted for their bravery. They celebrate their new roles and look forward to future adventures.
Differences from the Island[]
Plot[]
- In the island, the words on the crystal gate say "When four knights of the Quest are gathered the Chosen One may pull the key from the stone". In the book it's changed to "When the five knights of the Quest are gathered, the Chosen One may pull the Key from the stone". This change is to emphasize the fact that both Simon Cobb and Alice are the Chosen Ones.
